Employers' Forum on Disability
Mike Devenney’s original aim was to become a neurophysiologist. But he ‘drifted’ into disability campaigning and since then has put together an impressive ‘portfolio’ career.
As well as helping to bring disability into mainstream academia, Mike says his aims include helping to change how disabled people are portrayed and represented. He said “Another big challenge for society is integrating disabled people into mainstream education.
He prefers to persuade rather than compel organisations to adopt progressive disability policies: “I’d much rather win the argument than beat someone around the head with the law, but if I have to I’ll get my big stick out.”
